About BVI Yacht Sales

BVI Yacht Sales is located at Nanny Cay Resort and Marina, the premier marine service location in the British Virgin Islands. This facility includes a 200-slip marina and full service yard, comfortable hotel and good restaurants set on a tropical island offering our clients the most enjoyable Caribbean yacht purchase experience possible.

With a staff of four full-time brokers, an office/closing manager and a marketing manager we are amply staffed throughout all aspects of the brokerage.

Meet The Team




A full time broker and the co-owner of BVI Yacht Sales since 1997, Chris has spent the last 33 years in the sailing industry. Prior to brokering he was Operations Manager for TMM Yacht Charter’s largest base, taking care of 50 yachts for many years. Chris’s early passion was teaching sailing, which he did for a decade in the U.K., including running his own RYA School with his wife and co-owner of BVI Yacht Sales, Karen. Inducted into the sailing life at the tender age of one by his sailing mad parents, he later spent much of his formative years offshore cruising which, combined with his professional sailing, totals around 40,000 miles. Chris is an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor with a depth of nautical knowledge that can only be gained from experience, his genuine passion to ensure that he is always straightforward and that his clients are more than satisfied with his service is clear to see.




Karen grew up in Missouri; in a family owned and operated marina based business on Table Rock Lake. She has been around boats all her life and co-owned an RYA sailing school with her partner Chris in the mid-late 80’s. Since purchasing BVI Yacht Sales in 1997 , Karen has worked in every aspect in the business from brokering to marketing but is now concentrating purely on the transfer of ownership closing documents assuring that each vessel is sold with Clear Title and hand holding our buyers through the registration process and our sellers transferring title smooth and efficiently.




Clive Allen, has been with BVI Yacht Sales since 2007. He started his nautical career in the diving industry in the nineties, leading him to work in Australia and Asia including running his

own dive shop in the Philippines. Clive has spent 4 years liveaboard cruising from Hong Kong to Madagascar and then, two years cruising the length and breadth of the Caribbean with

his wife and young daughter. Clive’s extensive travels have given him a well rounded outlook that allows him to quickly tune into any client’s requirements, he is also fully fluent in French which is a great plus. Clive holds the French Ocean Captain’s qualification and also has a strong background in diesel mechanics. Candid, passionate and very strong service ethics.




Brian Duff, with experience from owning many different yachts, sailing on almost every type of boat out there, accumulating many thousands of miles on the race course and cruising; both inshore and distance offshore, as well as working in the of the industry for the last 17 years. Brian sold ‘Southbound Cruising Services’ in 2009, a rigging specialist shop he had created and run in the very active Annapolis area, before then making the move to BVI Yacht Sales.

Brian’s knowledge of yachts is full and far reaching and he puts this to work helping you fully understand the boats you are considering buying. Having made a living upgrading boats and having rebuilt many too, Brian is very well equipped to advise sellers on the right little things that can be done to get the best sale price, fast!  Brian actively cruises with his son Rayne (12) who is a competitive optimist racer and actively explores the BVI during off time onboard their Kendall 32 ‘Nerites’.




Todd Duff has been sailing since an early age and began working in yacht sales in 1982. He previously worked as a marine contractor, holds current credentials as an accredited marine surveyor and is a well-known writer for many of the popular sailing magazines such as Cruising World, Blue Water Sailing, Good Old Boat, Cruising Outpost, All At Sea and others.

He has cruised extensively with his children as crew while homeschooling them and raised his kids to be great lovers of the sea. He has been involved in long distance sailing since 1987 and has spent 12 out of the last thirty years as a full time cruiser. During this time he has visited 27 countries under sail in the Atlantic, Caribbean and the North and South Pacific.

Todd is careful, conscientious and dedicated to making certain that his clients are well informed and professionally handled. With over 700 yachts sold in his career as a Yacht Broker, and with his experience as both a former general marine contractor and SAMS Marine Surveyor, Todd is extremely well qualified and able to assist both buyers and sellers through the process of dealing with any issues or concerns that may come up during the boat buying or selling process.




Carrie has worked within the marine industry since 2005 when she managed up to 25 staff for a large bareboat charter company, learning the ins and out of that whole industry while undoubtedly honing her customer service skills. In 2010 She took up the position of Marketing and Accounts Manager here with BVIYS, putting to great use her various accounting and finance diplomas as well as her Certified Bookkeeping designation. Originally from Ontario, Canada but having lived in the BVI for many years now, like the rest of us here she thoroughly enjoys the environment and interacting with the tremendously varied cliental that we are blessed with here. In her years here with BVIYS she has become very familiar with the various designs and features of the 100’s of boats she has marketed for us and is constantly looking into fresh ways of getting our great boats more effectively in front of our clients. She also has a second very important role of tying the office administration together so that it runs as smoothly as possible, much to the appreciation of all of us. She is motivated, eager to learn and help with every transaction to constantly improve BVI Yacht Sales' reputation for great customer service.




Macy is in charge of customer relations activities in the BVI Yacht Sales office. While she regularly shirks her responsibilities in favour of a quick snooze or treat, she's a valuable asset within the business and ensures things run smoothly.
