Broker's Remarks

As one of the most popular and successful cruising cat design of all time, selecting a Lagoon 440 as your choice of vessel is almost a no brainer. However, Safari offers her next owner an exceptional example of how one of these great boats can be preserved, upgraded and maintained to the very highest standards. She has been lavished with attention throughout her short life. Her upgrades truly are way too numerous to list here but a few highlights include her water maker, moderate engine hours on her good looking Yanmars, a Code Zero light weather Reacher, as well as a regular chute, all new air cons and even a new icemaker. This vessel really does not want for anything and, if in the market for such a boat, your earliest viewing is highly recommended, we are sure that she will not disappoint!

I would rate Safari’s condition as excellent. I have been with Safari since I crossed the Atlantic on her delivery and moved to the USVI to personally manage her care and chartering. Though I do charter her, she has NEVER been bare boated. My crew (Captain and Chef) have never lived aboard. My goal from day one has been to maintain Safari to the highest standard for the enjoyment of my family and our guests. Safari has not wanted for any care or maintenance.

The overall design and décor of Safari is one of openness, featuring several distinct living areas for your relaxation and enjoyment. From the fly bridge helm, to the spacious air conditioned salon, bow settee & trampoline, with a large covered cockpit.

Interior; In each forward bow there is a crew cabin. They are single V berths with a short ladder to enter. Entry is from an overhead hatch. On either side of the ladder there are shelves, and a large storage compartment under each berth. The port crew cabin is air conditioned.

Each hull is a mirror image layout.  There are (4) guest staterooms with plenty of headroom, each with an individual ensuite bathroom including shower, wash basin and electric heads. The forward staterooms each offer a double bed, each aft stateroom offers a queen walk-around bed.  There is plentiful stowage in drawers and cabinets for every cabin.

In the main salon there is a spacious dining area with an L shaped settee to port and forward that surrounds the dining table, which can also be substituted for a smaller cocktail/coffee table.  Inboard is a loveseat providing additional seating. The dining area can also convert to provide an additional double berth if required.

Aft of the dining area to port are two cupboards, the aft one housing the breakers and gauges.  To starboard and forward is a fridge and freezer with counter space above, along with the forward-facing navigation station and separate pedestal seat. An inside steering and engine control station is also provided at the nav station The aft facing galley is opposite the navigation station with the stove forward inboard, followed by counter space either side of the double sinks along the aft bulkhead. Below the galley surface is another side opening fridge. There are plenty of cupboards and drawers in this area providing ample galley storage.

Exterior; There is a spacious covered cockpit with a comfortable ‘U shaped’ cushioned seating area, around a generous sized dining table which can be removed and replaced with an elegant cocktail table.   Located in the cockpit is a convenient outdoor sink, with a cabinet, mini bar and icemaker below, making a perfect outside area to dine and relax.  The raised central helm station accessed by steps directly from the cockpit, gives a perfect 360° visibility with all the control lines within easy reach. There is a large bench seat in the helm area with an added custom padded backrest

In front of the salon and aft of the trampolines, is the forward cockpit. Also in this area is wet locker for the freshwater hose, adjacent to and drained into the anchor chain well.  The hinged lid to the anchor chain well also doubles as a settee table. A large locker housing the water tanks, pumps and space for other equipment lies beneath the forward cockpit seat with a deep additional locker on each side of the cockpit.
